You want to keep people safe. You are willing to work, learn, and take responsibility. But the security field can be hard to understand from the outside — and the lessons that matter most are often learned the hard way.
Rent-A-Cop Reboot: Time-Saving Tips That Could Save Your Career, Your Butt and Even Your Life helps you think through what private security work is really like, whether it can become a worthwhile career, and what it takes to become the kind of professional people can trust.
Written by security professional Samuel Griffin III with Theresa M. Caldwell, this quick, practical read is designed to inform, inspire, and motivate security-minded people who want to begin well and grow with purpose.
Samuel Griffin III is a 30-year security professional and the founder of Leumas Security Services, the Virginia company he has run since 1996.
Earlier in his career, his work in executive protection took him around the world protecting presidential candidates, heads of state, and A-list celebrities. Today he leads Leumas Security Services — managing teams of security officers for businesses and communities — and writes and speaks about the profession through Leumas Publishing.
He wrote Rent-A-Cop Reboot with Theresa M. Caldwell to give the next generation of security professionals the honest guidance he wishes someone had handed him at the start. Samuel also hosts the Protected and Purposeful podcast, where the lessons of a life in protection meet faith and leadership.
Theresa M. Caldwell is the co-author of Rent-A-Cop Reboot with Samuel Griffin III. She also co-authors the Safety Seal children’s books from Leumas Publishing — Safety Seal with Samuel Griffin III, and Safety Seal and the Helpful Numbers with Imani Harris-Griffin.
Theresa Caldwell, MIS, is a multi-faceted trainer and public speaker who incorporates movement and listening experiences into her work sharing the importance of trauma-informed/trauma-responsive care and resilience-building. She is a Certified Trauma Professional, Certified Listening Professional, and Certified Group Fitness Instructor. She is married with one son and two step-children.
